This past Friday, K1 held separate bible studies for the brothers and sisters. The message for the brothers, given under a LED-lit canopy in the rugged wilderness (North Field), was centered on our fellowship with one another with reference to verses such as 1 Peter 3:8 that call us to have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind. The sisters, on the other hand, kicked off the night with Japanese okonomiyaki, a Japanese pizza/pancake type food. Their message focused on sharing from Psalm 149, and they wrapped up by receiving notebooks to write bible verses in, preparing to better familiarize themselves with God's word for the year ahead.
K1 regrouped for post-activity: a royal ramen rumble. Split into three groups, we battled it out to secure ingredients to create the tastiest ramen possible. With ingredients ranging from salt water to pork belly, the competition was fierce and, at times, lawless. Refined in the heat of the kitchen, only one ramen stood victorious by judges' decision. We concluded the night with fellowship over the remaining ramen, reinforcing ourselves to continue engaging in the work of the Lord.
